The Continuum is an organisation of Mages outside the Ascension War, dedicated to fighting the Perpetual War against the Darkness (Nephandi/Deep Umbra) that surrounds and seeks to destroy all Realities. Originally designed as an add-on for Mage: The Ascension, it has grown so much that it could probable be used on its own within the StoryTeller system.
Included in this Net-Supplement are complete backgrounds and settings for the Continuum, rules describing alternate realities ('Virtuals') and the Labyrinth of Time, and new rules detailing the Darkness (related to the Deep Umbra) and the minions that serve it. Any opinions on the Continuum would be most welcome....! |
| This work is completely unrelated to Aetherco's Continuum RPG. Any similarities between the two are entirely coincidental. Besides which, I wrote this waaaay before they wrote their game (which incidentally, is a pretty good time travel game that is well worth checking out!). |
The Continuum has been extensively updated and is now in its Second Edition. It is available only in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format so you'll need an Acrobat Reader to view them - you can download this from the Adobe Website. You can download the component Books seperately or all in a single 725K PDF file (The Complete Continuum):

*: Designing Virtuals: Virtuals are alternate realities, presenting different backgrounds for use with White Wolf's Storyteller system in general - as such, no knowledge of the Continuum is actually required to design them or incorporate them in non-Continuum Chronicles. All that is required to make any alternate setting compatible with the Continuum is a Virtual Classification Code (determined using the Virtual Classification Scheme in Book 3), and any details (if applicable) of Continuum interaction with the natives.
Virtuals can be presented at any level of detail, though obviously the more detailed the better. I'm always looking for new Virtuals - if you have any ideas, do send them in to ! I'll only consider well-written and consistent Virtuals though - use the examples presented here as guidelines.
